Chapter House Renovation Campaign:Beta Nu Chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity
Coinciding with the 100th anniversary celebration is a major chapter house renovation, the first in 5 years (since the 95th!). The projected costs for the renovations are $19,000, to do all the finishing work on the lounge and library areas on the first floor.
The lounge repair costs are $10,000 for the University work to repair the walls, which will include: washing all the walls and ceilings; prepping the walls, trim and ceilings for finish, painting the ceilings, repairing, staining and finishing the wall panels and trim, and installing curtain rods and hooks.
The estimated costs for the Peter D. Evans Library comes to $9,000, since the wall paneling has rotted after decades, and repair there will must include removal of existing wall panels on three walls, install paneling to match the lounge, and painting the ceiling and trim. However, no new furnishings are needed for the library area.
As you may know, although the University does basic maintenance, the Chapter is responsible for major upgrades in the chapter house.
